Soon forty

I am turning forty soon, and I am afraid.

I fear aging, fading, Alzheimer’s, and death.
My body and mind are changing in ways I do not understand or control.

I place this fear, anxiety, and restless anticipation into images inspired by horror films I have loved since childhood.

I am turning forty, and it is inevitable.
